Pet-friendly Oslo
Oslo is the rare capital where a cabin trail and a waterfront opera house can be the same day, if your pet's pace allows it.
Nordmarka starts close to the city. That makes a cabin, or an apartment with a serious walking plan, more comfortable than a hotel that only tolerates pets in the lobby. Larger dogs usually do better outside the tightest downtown blocks.
Fjord ferries and trailheads have their own rules. Winter changes the plan completely: daylight is short, paths ice over, and a stylish city coat is not a coat for a dog who will lie in slush. Pack for the weather the host describes, not the photo.
Pet notes
- Cabins with a trail from the door score well for energetic dogs.
- Ask about crates and quiet hours. Oslo flats carry sound.
- Keep dogs out of ski tracks in winter unless the trail says otherwise.
