Pet-friendly Helsinki
Helsinki is compact enough for a long weekend and green enough that a pet does not have to spend it in a hallway.
Punavuori, Kallio, and the parks along the shore are the practical base. Suomenlinna is the day trip people want, and it is a ferry, so the pet policy is the ferry's policy plus whatever the island asks of you that week.
Design-district apartments photograph beautifully and sometimes ban animals in the building rules even when a host is friendly. We ask hosts to publish the building rule, the fee, and the size limit in the same place. If those three are vague, the PawScore stays modest.
Pet notes
- Confirm the Suomenlinna ferry before you promise anyone a picnic.
- Wool pet beds and wipeable floors are common in higher-scoring flats.
- Winter pavements get salted. Rinse paws after a city walk.
